Miscellaneous Questions

Can I make a donation?
How does it work?
Why is it called PSTEC?

Does it erase memories?

No. PSTEC leaves memories in place but it changes the feelings attached to them. Think of it as very rapid, easy and convenient way to do desensitisation. The Click Track dismantles the framework of emotions which exist as a consequence of negative former experiences. Even a single traumatic event may have left a complex mix of unwanted feelings. Each can be taken in turn and worked through the PSTEC process to release someone from the emotional after effects.

Will there be other PSTEC audio files?

The standard PSTEC audio file works with great efficiency but I constantly have a number of other methods and techniques in development. Only the very best ever reach the website.

Why is it called PSTEC?

PSTEC is short for "Percussive Suggestion Technique". It uses percussive sounds and movement and suggestion to work it's "magic". This site can be accessed by using either or

Can you use it on situations that don't have a lot of strong emotion?

Yes, you can. The results will be most dramatic when used on any feeling that is very strong because the difference between that feeling at the start of the process and at the end of the process will be greatest.

Human behaviour is driven very much by feelings, and since you can use the PSTEC process to neutralise pretty much any negative feeling, you can use it to change behaviours too. As long as you can identify the feelings at work, irrespective of how highly charged they may be, you can use the PSTEC process to create the desired changes.

When I use the audio where should my hands be?

You can rest them on your leg, on the arm of the chair, or wherever else is comfortable for you.
If you are used to using meridian therapies such as acupuncture you can position them over points which you feel may be beneficial. There is no right and wrong answer on this one. Do what feels right, comfortable and most appropriate for you.

Is it possible to use this to install new and positive behaviours?

Yes. There are lots of spcific systems on the website but the place to begin is with the core tools - sometimes called the essentials. People's negative and limiting behaviours are almost always a consequence of negative and limiting beliefs and these in turn have their roots in negative feelings.
If the feelings can be identified then they can be cleared using Click Tracks so that newer and more positive behaviours will naturally result.
It's also possible to go about this more directly. "PSTEC™ Positive" has been designed to directly create positive change and to do so very efficiently. PSTEC™ Negative (Otherwise known as the Belief Eraser) was designed to help you remove negative and limiting beliefs.
PSTEC Positive is contained within PSTEC Level 1. You can find that in the core tools.

How should I move my hands?

As long as you move them at the right times it doesn't matter whether you move a finger, four fingers or your whole hand. I recommend moving the fingers. Some regular keyboard users even use a typing action. It really doesn't matter. The timing is more important than the nature of the movement.

I am not finding the process relaxing. Is there something wrong?

It's not meant to be relaxing. It's meant to be effective. There are plenty of very relaxing therapies which simply do not work. By contrast PSTEC is designed simply to be highly efficient and highly effective.

If you have listened to the instructions for the Click Tracks hopefully you will have noticed that it is intended to require focus and concentration and not relaxation. That focus and attention is key to its success and that's one reason why someone can experience very rapid success with PSTEC, often in minutes after failing with all other therapies.

When listening you should ONLY focus on what's specified in the instructions. If you are unclear on the process then please listen carefully to the instructions again.

Some people find it easier to focus on more than one thing at once than others, but as long as you do your best and keep thinking about your problem as you use the audio, you'll do well.

When I move both hands together do they move at different speeds or at the same time

When you tap with both hands they should be moved at exactly the same time in harmony with each other. In addition, the movement of both hands working together should be fairly rapid since this seems to work best. At other times move them independently as dictated by the clicks.

Can I use a computer to play the audio?

On the audio instructions I advise against using computers to play the audio but this only applies to their internal speakers which are usually poor.
If you use a computer to listen through earphones then the sound quality will be absolutely fine. MP3 players are ideal.

Does Attention Deficit Disorder stop someone using PSTEC?

No. ADD does not affect the PSTEC processs in any way. If your concentration drifts, (which it does with most people who use the process) just keep coming back to the thought / feeling and do your best to concentrate on it as you also try to follow the sequences specified by the audio.

Do I need to follow the instructions?

YES! You do need to follow the instructions. In the first month following the launch of the website an avalanche of positive feedback came in. Of that correspondence only three people emailed to say that they had not experienced the results everyone else reported. In each case they had not bothered to listen to the instructions. Following instructions definitely does provide by far the best results!

I have a fear. Surely that protects me?

No. It's not that straightforward. Fear is not needed. Knowledge protects people better than fear. The knowledge that an adder or a cobra can be dangerous is more than enough to prevent someone from walking into a pit of venomous snakes. When people have irrational fears they tend to react in irrational ways. Sometimes fearful reactions can interfere with taking good decisions and actually endanger people.

Is there any more information or instructions for therapists?

Yes, I have prepared a vast amount of information for therapists. At the very least therapists should study PSTEC Level 1 and PSTEC Advanced.

. PSTEC level 1 also includes a number of core tools.

I am left handed. Should I reverse the directions?

No. Just do as instructed. Both left and right handed people should follow the instructions on the audio in exactly the same way.

How can I create positive change?

Some people, (especially users of other interventions) have asked how to do more than just neutralise problems. This is explained in many tutorials. There is lots of information on doing this in the brilliant Jeff Harding interviews and lots of information in the tutorials.

Is there anything I shouldn't use it for?

The free PSTEC process can be used to neutralise all manner of negative feelings such as anger, sadness, fears and anxieties. Whether a use is appropriate is determined by the user. There is only one particular use that I generally have doubts about. Although some users have successfully used PSTEC to deal with very recent bereavements, I personally believe that it is best not to interfere with the natural grieving process after losing someone important. If the grief does not subside naturally then that's a different matter. Unresolved grief is a different matter and in my opinion perhaps a more appropriate use of the process.

How do I stop my PC trying to open mp3s with QuickTime?

This is not really a PSTEC question at all.
If this is happening I'm afraid it's down to the way your computer is configured. Fortunately there is a solution. If this doesn't make sense then you may want to check out some of the forums or just download the files and copy them off to a personal mp3 player.
Option 1) Open Windows Media Player and then set it as the default MP3 player. (You do this by putting a check mark beside MP3 in File Types, under Tools > Options). Then load Winamp and reassociate MP3's under File Types, in Winamp's Preferences.
Option 2)
Unckeck the MP3 options in QuickTime MIME settings. Next uncheck the Mp3 setting in WMP (Windows Media Player). Hit apply, close WMP. Then reopen and check Mp3 file type and apply. Close WMP. Reboot. Then try to open an mp3 files in your browser.

Why didn't I get my email? (How and why to "Whitelist")

All email sent to you, is handled by your email service provider. Many mail providers filter what reaches you.

To "protect" you from spam email, most service providers put all your email through a filter first. The filter uses simple rules to decide whether or not to deliver any given email to your inbox. Unfortunately it's very common for email providers to have filters which don't work very well and often legitimate emails are mistaken by the filters as being spam.

Every email which they filter out does not reach you. This is the reason why you receive some emails but not others. They filter email based on who sent it, email content, the words used etc. For this reason it's possible for someone to send you three emails and for your email provider to deliver two of them but not the third.

At the time of writing, Yahoo, BT and AOL appear to be particularly agressive at filtering emails. In fact many legitimate senders have complained that email never reaches it's intended destination. Yahoo, BT and AOL are not the only ones to do this though.

Sometimes email service providers will consign emails to a spam folder. More recently some providers have even started deleting mail completely.

If you were expecting an email from the PSTEC website then check your spam folders.
There is a better way to be reasonably sure that the email you want to receive will actually reach you. That is by using something called a "whitelist".
A whitelist is a list of trusted senders that you want to receive email from.

Therefore to be completely confident that you will receive emails from the PSTEC website you should add to your whitelist. Likewise you should do this for any other email addresses you don't want filtered out.

The steps to do this are different with every email provider. They should be able to advise you how to do this. Alternatively you may also find instructions on how to do this for your particular email provider by searching the Internet.
For example if you use Yahoo then a suitable Google search would be something such as......       "how to whitelist" yahoo mail

I bought an optional extra. How do I collect it?

You should be taken to it at the time of purchase. An automated system also emails you. On occasions emails can be delayed or end up spam folders rather than reaching your intray. You can check your spam folder.

Why does the Mp3 play at double speed in my copy of Windows Media Player?
This is a very rare problem indeed. Some very old versions of Windows Media Player do not handle all MP3 codecs correctly. You may be able to halve the speed by pressing rewind. Otherwise try a different media player, or better yet don't use your PC for playing the audio at all. MP3 players are a better choice.

Is PSTEC absolutely guaranteed to work?
No therapy can be absolutely guaranteed but therapists who are using PSTEC in their offices on a regular basis can confirm that PSTEC is astonishingly reliable. There have been occasional failures but usually that has been a result of the instructions not being followed carefully. To be surest of personal success please read and apply these tips.
1. Study the instructions BEFORE use and then follow them to the letter!
Once you get one success, more will follow and after that it's fine to experiment a little, but at first follow the instructions 100%. Tim advises people to confirm the free process is working for them before upgrading to the powerful tutorials and extras.
2. Double checking the instructions will resolve most problems but anyone who does not get the success they expect within a reasonable time scale should either try another therapy or seek paid for professional advice from a PSTEC Register member.
3. Remember that PSTEC is different from other therapies and needs to be treated as such. PSTEC has it's own set of instructions which should be followed. Treating PSTEC like other therapies can be counter productive. For example: If you happen to be coming to PSTEC from an EFT background, DO NOT use set up statements, or reminder statements with PSTEC or repeated one liners either! They are highly COUNTER productive.

Can I make a donation?
Some people just love to give. You are very welcome to donate if you wish and a donation of any kind will help PSTEC to reach more people.

Sincere thanks for your kindness and support.
